Progression Guide

LoveManiac progression is built around repeated routes, Chara's deal, combat, overworld exploration and additional scene content rather than a single linear completion state.

Begin With the Intro

The introduction establishes the central premise: after repeated routes with the same result, Chara offers a deal. Later versions expanded the presentation of this sequence. Version 0.3.6 added a new cinematic to the intro, including an animation for declining Chara's deal, while also updating intro voice lines.

The intro therefore belongs to the progression path, not merely to the game's opening presentation. If you are revisiting an older save after an update, remember that the opening sequence and available interactions have changed over time.

Move Into the Overworld

The overworld is the part of the game that connects the battle and scene systems. Version 0.3.4 added a continuation of the overworld and made it less cramped, while later development continued to add rooms. Version 0.3.6 specifically lists new overworld rooms and notes that the Lake Room interaction is still being developed.

This means the overworld should be treated as a changing part of an unfinished project. A room or interaction that is absent from an older version can later appear as part of a content update. Conversely, an unfinished room should not be described as having a confirmed gameplay function until Team Nebula documents it.

Use Battles to Advance

Battles form a central progression gate and contain the game's main combat systems. The public 0.3.2 release added the Lust Meter, new attacks and save slots. Version 0.3.4_3 later introduced No Hit mode and Gelly Fish, giving players a dedicated way to practice and pursue No Hit progression.

Version 0.3.5 expanded the ACT system with timed Flirt choices and added new scenes. This makes combat and progression increasingly connected: surviving the encounter is only one part of the wider content loop, while ACT interactions can influence how the battle sequence develops.

Repeat Content and Second Rounds

Repeat progression is a documented feature of the project. Version 0.3.4 added nine second rounds. Earlier versions had already established scenes and route repetition, while subsequent releases continued to expand the available scene set.

Second rounds should therefore be treated as separate progression targets when building a completion checklist. The existence of a first scene does not automatically mean every later round has been registered. Team Nebula's own updates show that second-round content has been added in batches rather than appearing all at once.

Track Progress Through the Gallery

The Gallery is the clearest documented collection point for scene-related progression. Version 0.3.4_3 added the special Nebby store scene to the Gallery, and version 0.3.6 added a Gallery artwork book. These additions show that the Gallery is not static: new releases can add both playable-scene records and presentation material.

When checking completion, use the Gallery as a record of what the current build recognizes. If a scene is discussed in an older community post but does not appear in the current version, do not assume that the older state still applies. Cross-check the current version and the official update history in Updates.

Manage Saves

Save slots were introduced in 0.3.2. They are particularly useful for a progression-heavy game because they allow different route states to be preserved separately. A cautious approach is to keep a stable save before experimenting with a new branch or newly released content.

The game's continuing development also makes version awareness important. Team Nebula released 0.3.4_2 and 0.3.4_3 as bug-fix updates shortly after 0.3.4, then followed with 0.3.5 and the 0.3.6 Early Access release. A progression issue can therefore be version-specific rather than evidence that a route is impossible.

Keep Public and Early Access Content Separate

The official page currently lists downloadable 0.3.5_2 Android, Windows and Linux files and a Mac build from 0.3.4_3. The 0.3.6 post is an Early Access release for Galaxy and Nebula supporters, while the same post identifies a browser build named LoveManiac 0.3.5_WEB.zip.

For a public-facing completion guide, use the latest publicly documented content as the baseline and clearly distinguish Early Access additions. This prevents new 0.3.6 material from being presented as if it were already part of the same public build.

A Practical Completion Order

  1. Complete the introduction and establish the current route state.
  2. Explore the available overworld areas and continue the documented route.
  3. Learn the battle loop and use ACT options where appropriate.
  4. Preserve useful save states before exploring new progression branches.
  5. Check the Gallery for newly registered scene content.
  6. Return for second-round content and later additions.
  7. Use the version history to separate public content from Early Access material.

This order is deliberately version-safe. It does not assign unverified hidden requirements to individual scenes. For detailed battle mechanics, use Battle Guide; for scene collection, use All Scenes; for the shop system, see Nebby Shop.

Are second rounds part of progression?

Yes. Version 0.3.4 added nine second rounds, making repeat scene content a documented part of the game's progression.

Does the overworld change between versions?

Yes. Team Nebula has expanded the overworld and continued adding rooms in later updates.

Why does version matter so much?

LoveManiac is still in development, and several patches have changed content, combat, scenes and bug behavior.
