Getting Started
LoveManiac is an in-development role-playing game by Team Nebula built around repeated routes, Chara's deal, battles, exploration and collectible scenes. The project has Windows, Linux, Android and a browser build, while the itch.io page continues to identify the game as in development.
Start With the Main Menu
The main menu is more than a launch screen. Later versions added direct interaction with Chara and Nebby there, and the 0.3.5 update expanded those interactions with special animations when their sprites are held down. The menu is also part of the game's progression structure, so it is worth checking the available options after major milestones rather than treating it only as a place to start a new run.
Version 0.3.4 also added the ability to skip cutscenes. That matters when repeating routes or returning to content after an earlier attempt. The 0.3.2 public release added save slots, so progression can be separated between different saves instead of relying on a single state.
Understand the Route
The central premise presented by Team Nebula is that Chara offers a deal after repeated routes have reached the same result. From there, the game combines an overworld, battles and additional scenes. The important distinction is that progression is not limited to winning one encounter. Later updates added more overworld space, additional scenes, second rounds and Gallery entries, making repeat progression part of the intended structure.
When beginning a fresh save, follow the introductory sequence and continue through the available overworld content. The 0.3.4 release expanded the overworld and added a continuation to it, while 0.3.6 added more rooms that are still marked as work in progress. This means the exact route can change as development continues.
Learn the Battle Loop
Combat is built around a dodge-focused battle sequence combined with actions. The 0.3.2 release added the Lust Meter and new combat attacks, while the 0.3.5 release added an interactive Flirt ACT flow with timed answer selection and shuffled choices. The outcomes of that flow can be bad, good or amazing, so the ACT system is not simply a decorative menu.
There is also a dedicated No Hit mode. Added in 0.3.4_3, it immediately restarts the battle after damage and changes how the post-death scene sequence behaves. The same update introduced Gelly Fish, which restores 20 HP and provides a shield capable of absorbing one hit. A hit absorbed by that shield does not count toward the No Hit statistic.
Use Save Slots Deliberately
Save slots were introduced in version 0.3.2. They are useful because LoveManiac has progression that can extend across repeated attempts, additional rounds and Gallery content. Keeping separate saves can preserve an earlier state while another save is used to explore newer content.
Because the game is still in development, version differences matter. A save or scene can behave differently after a patch, and Team Nebula has repeatedly released bug-fix updates between content releases. If a menu, Gallery entry or second-round state looks different from an older guide, first compare the game version before assuming the progression is incorrect.
Use the Gallery as a Progress Tracker
The Gallery became a more important reference point as the game expanded. Version 0.3.4_3 added the special Nebby store scene to the Gallery, while 0.3.6 added a Gallery artwork book. This makes the Gallery useful for checking which pieces of content have already been registered and which areas still require progression.
Second-round content was also expanded in version 0.3.4, which added nine second rounds. The later 0.3.5 and 0.3.6 updates continued to add scenes and related presentation features. For a structured route through this material, see Progression Guide and All Scenes.
Version and Platform Notes
The official itch.io page lists downloadable builds for Android, Windows and Linux, with an older Mac build also shown. Team Nebula separately published a browser build named LoveManiac 0.3.5_WEB.zip. The public download state should therefore be distinguished from the 0.3.6 Early Access development state when following version-specific information.
For the game's named characters, see Chara and Nebby. For battle-specific advice, continue to Battle Guide.
